New Server
I have almost completed the transition to my new webhost and webserver. I changed from ICDSoft (a good hosting provider with good service, but not enough space of bandwidth) to Bluehost. I have been using Bluehost for some of the other sites that I work on including all of the iterations connected with the Jim Burkee for Congress campaign. I like them a lot and they now have unlimited bandwidth and storage for a great price.

Christmas Tree 2006
Because of an error with the first export, I was unable to display my Christmas Tree 2006 video. I have re-uploaded it and it is not available again on ChrisTUBE. Watch it here.
Topographic Map Project
I created a video and website project on teaching topographic maps with Google Earth. I have now launched the final version of the site, and it can be seen by going here.
IE 6 Users! Listen Up!
Attention Internet Explorer Users, I have been doing some changing and testing and am unfortunately in the middle of updating the site for full IE compatibility. Everything that you need is on the page, it is just at the bottom of the page instead of the top. I will repair this problem soon!
Version 8
Welcome to CreationsbyChris.net version 8.0. What you are seeing right now is the culmination of several hours of labor and coding. Here is the low down on the changes to the site:
- New Look/CMS – I have changed over from Exponent CMS to Wordpress. Yes, Wordpress is a blog. No, this site is not really a blog as such. Part of the reasoning here is that I wanted something easy to use and customize that would be great for my site and also allow me to easily post things like photos and links. Exponent is nice, but honestly, for me at this point in my life, it is a little bit of overkill. Plus, Wordpress is a lot easier to customize because of the thousands of Plugins that have been created for it. This is not the case with Exponent, which is unfortunate because it is a really good CMS all in all.
- New Logo – This is my 3rd Logo in 2.5 versions of the site, and it probably won’t be my last until I finally rest on something that I really like and can be satisfied with. I am working with a designer friend of mine but I really want to design my own logo, so I guess we will wait and see what happens.
- Where did everything go? Well, pictures are still available in the link at the top and bottom of this page. I hope to over Christmas have most of my pictures uploaded to PicasaWeb so I don’t have to worry about Bandwidth issues anymore (not that these were really a problem, but it is a lot easier to upload and not worry about it anymore).
- ChrisTube? It still exists but I am using the name Chris TV.
Well, that about sums it up for now. I guess I am following tradition, updating the site during Christmas Break or Summer Break (when I actually have time to do so) although this is a little early. Let me know what you think.
